About the studio
Grace & Ground Studios is the studio of Mervani, an artist working in oil, watercolour, mixed media and clay in Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand.

The name Grace & Ground holds two ideas. Grace is the faith I create from, and the gift I understand my ability to be. Ground is the natural world the work comes from: landscapes, organic forms, earth and clay.
Paintings here move between oil, watercolour and mixed media. Clay work is hand-built and glazed in the studio. Each piece carries a short story, and sometimes a verse, so that the work can be read as well as seen.
